Looking for a way to increase sales post-lockdown?
Lots of businesses are in the same position. The high street has certainly suffered due to COVID-19. In fact, in a recent survey, people of all ages were found to be shopping online at a higher rate due to the crisis. This may have started as a necessity. But there are concerns that coronavirus has permanently changed consumer habits. Therefore, the question is:
How can you, as a retailer, adapt to the ‘new norm’ and start to attract custom?
3 ways to boost sales post-lockdown
1. Social distancing signage
Part of the problem is that many people are still concerned about the safety of public spaces. So, reassure them. Let them know that you’re open for business and 100% COVID-secure.
One of the easiest ways to do this is by using shop signage. For example, here at Vinyline, we currently have a range of social distancing products that are perfect for use within a retail environment. These can be used to remind people to stay ‘one metre plus’ apart or to inform customers on handwashing facilities, queue points, and payment options.
They can be supplied with our standard ‘COVID-19’ designs or personalised to include your logo or brand colours. But either way, they don’t cost much. And they could be exactly what you need to comply with government safety guidelines and give your customers peace of mind.
2. Invest in a new shop front sign
If you’re struggling for business post-lockdown, there’s never been a better time to get new facias. Approximately 85% of your customers will live within a five-mile radius and pass your store around 100 times a month. So why not make the most of that? By investing in a new shop front sign, you can catch the eye of those passers-by and encourage them to pay you a visit.
Take, for example, the new signage we recently created for a café and coffee house in Rainford.
Simple yet effective, this new fascia has breathed life into the building – making it stand out and helping to attract new customers. And we could do the same for you. We offer everything from simple flat panels to built-up acrylic letters and illuminated signage and, whatever your personal preferences or budget, we can create a sign that will generate fresh interest in your store.
3. Promotional window graphics
Prior to the pandemic, promotional signage would have been placed in high-traffic areas – to encourage customers to make impulse buys and unplanned purchases. But, in the COVID-19 era, this is far too risky and social distancing rules have made it very difficult to cross-merchandise.
Our advice is to invest in window graphics instead. During busy periods, customers will likely need to queue outside your store – and this is the perfect opportunity for a little promotion. Perhaps include details of your latest discounts? Or include information about a product you’d like to up-sell? Decals can be made bespoke-to-order. Either work with our team to create the perfect design or tell us your idea and we’ll make it a reality.
Alternatively, floor graphics are another great option. Not only can these be used to direct customers through your one-way system, but they’re also a fantastic space to advertise products.
